Dog Types
Once known as the Hairy Mountain Dog, later as the Scottish Bearded or Highland Collie, this breed is known to have herded cattle on the hills of Scotland for many a long year. Records appear to date back to around the sixteenth century. It is also said that Polish Lowland Sheepdogs were abandoned on the Scottish coast and that these bred with local herding dogs. |
